April 28, 2010In 4Story Middle of “Shooting” skill tree:Flash Bomb - Very good against both monsters and opponents for a few seconds let’s you shoot them with whatever you got (assuming it hits) easy time to kill your opponent or severely hurt them. Personal suggest while they’re not able to see move around to catch them off guard because they will know how to attack where it hurts if you stay in the same place while they’re blinded. Chaotic Arrow - Very good for PvP removes all your opponents beneficial buffs (assuming it hits) making them more vulnerable to taking more damage from yours or other peoples skills. This skill can also remove the annoying “bubble” of invincibility that others use and also can take away any beneficial buffs from panaceas that they might have on at the time. Which in any situation against another player this shot will help you out tremendously.
Right side of the “shooting” skill tree: Will of Hunt - A must have, good for hunting or PvP upgrade this whenever you can. Adds more damage to your long range attack making you have an easier time killing. This boosts the damage on all your skills if you wouldn’t of guessed not just when you’re shooting normally.
Snipe - A fantastic skill to deal your opponent crazy damage really quick - gives you the upper hand in fights against both Monsters and other players, highly suggest using this in battle. Be careful when using this on Warrior’s gives them a chance to come and catch up to you so they can stun you and such, make it a last hit - if you can.

April 24, 2010Archers are usually good at this in 4Story. We won’t go out on the limb as everyone else saying they’re overpowered because most think so but they’ve tried balancing classes. Anyway dueling and PvP is super fun and this is where Dexterity comes in big time! The more Dex you got the less you’re going to be hit and the more often you’re going to deal your opponent damage. Facing a Priest - A little bit tougher of a class to face sometimes due to all their buffs. First you will want to cast Lapiris’ Blerssings about two seconds before the match starts, then I suggest using Flash Bomb arrow or Chaotic Arrow while invisible to try and knock their buffs off of them. If you get them off definitely follow up with a Snipe you’re pretty much golden after that if you haven’t won or if they have healed repeat the Lapiris’ Blessings and hit them with your heavy damage shots.
Facing a Summoner - In personal opinion they seem like one of the easier classes to kill, but you have two things to kill. Destroy the pet first with Sharp Arrowhead then a few shots of regular shots. In this time the Summoner will be preparing to smack you down with a barrage of skills but once the pet is dead the Summoner soon falls too. Flash bomb the Summoner once the pet is dead then use the skill Snipe if that don’t finish it off use regular shots it’ll fall soon enough.

April 8, 2010The archer’s are the best damage dealers in the4Story because of there high hitting combos in pvp and a fairly powerful aoe in pve. The archer wears light armour or heavy leather armour and has the choice between the faster, but less powerful bow or the stronger, slower crossbow. There are three races in 4story were beast, fairy and human. The best race to be when you choose to be an archer is human this is because humans have a naturally higher dexterity allowing them to be the most powerful race at long range physical damage. Just like any class Archer has Pro’s and Con’s , Pro’s, an archer along with a priest is the main damage dealer in pve largely due to the aoe. An archer is the best class for damage per second making it very useful against rival kingdom players in pvp. Archers have a blind called flash bomb which will stop any opponent using skills against a target for a set time allowing you to deal considerable damage to there hp. Archers also have very low or no cast time on a lot of pvp skills, further contributing to damage per second.
Con’s, for archers to be effective they must always be out of reach of all other classes using there skills at close combat as against archer if you are any of the other five classes you can win if you stay next to them and use stuns and speed decrease to stop them getting away. To help archers kiting was discovered to give you the opportunity to constantly attack while keeping the enemy as far away as possible. Archers also are very weak against mage attacks so getting caught in priest or wizard aoe will cause serious damage and an archer only has buffs to help with physical damage (assassin, warrior and archer) and reflect only reflects physical skills. The Origins bit is interesting but kind of annoying too. Basically, there are six different back stories to pick from and the one you pick will shape how people react to you. The annoying bit is that the back stories are limited by race and class, so you really only have one or two for each combination. Also, the first hour or so of the game is completely different for each of the six, so you have to have six different characters if want to see them all.
Combat actually reminds you a little of FFXI but with a faster pace, and a lot more complexity. You can choose your target and auto attack or choose to use an ability or spell. Spells cost Mana to cast and Abilities cost Stamina to use. There is a base cost and several variables, such as the armor you’re wearing and the other spells and abilities you have going, that effect the final cost. Mobs are fairly weak, but there tend to several attacking you at once so it balances out.
You can either choose to attack on the fly and let your party take care of itself, or you can pause the game and micro manage everyone’s actions. Health and Stamina or Mana recharge over time, slower in combat and faster when walking around. You can also use various healing potions and such as well as cast healing magic if you have a mage in your party. At higher levels combat looks like it can get extremely complex, but in the early levels you don’t have much to play around with.
Refining Armor and Weapon in 4Story
March 25, 2010It is best to use other armor to refine your armor with if the same concept goes for armor. Obviously the Item(4Story Luna) Options can only be transfered from armor to armor. Using weapons to refine armor will only increase the durability.
They are defensive pieces of equipment while sold by the weapon merchants, shields(magic and physical) can hold armor Item Options, rather than weapon Item Options. So of course Magic Shields and Physical Shields should be considered armor and refined as such.
You don’t have to refine with the exact same item in 4Story, but with Item Option transfers, you will only be able to transfer Item Options that are applicable to that type of weapon. Being even more specific, using ranged weapons to refine ranged weapons, and magic weapons to refine magic weapons. So obviously other similar weapons will hold Item Options that you can use.
When refining weapons, it is best to use other weapons to refine them with. You can actually refine weapons with armor, and armor with weapons. But of course the only thing that you will gain, would be increased durability on the item.

When you start as an archer thus making the Survival skill tree already opened up in whatever direction you wanna start out with, Eagle eye and Shadow of soul will be given to you already. By the way Shadow of Soul is not given to you to start with Sharp Arrowhead and Eagle Eye is given, but Shadow of Soul fixes at one point and must be fixed before it opens up the tree.
Lapiris’ Arbitration which can makes monsters not target you for a little bit which gives you a chance to cast Move Like the Wind and get out of their before those monsters rip you to pieces. Never really tried Escapel out which assuming it’s used to get out of sticky situations in 4Story.

March 16, 2010This is a easier we think for archers then most other classes. We hit hard and we group well. Most of the time we will run around (If they’re melee creatures) and make them all follow us then as soon as you have a nice sized group AS SOON as you stop bring your AOE over to your group and let it off. This is because when you stop the monsters freeze a second and have a small lag time before they hit you again, thus giving you a chance to let your AOE off and own them all! As for magic creatures this requires a little more work because they tend to deal archers A LOT in 4Stroy.
First we would try and lure all the melee creatures around and kill them so the Magic creatures are by themselves. we will then cast Flash Bomb on them so they can’t attack you for a couple seconds (assuming it hits) and then we will use the Snipe shot and after that if they aren’t dead one to two shots from your bow will take them out before you take a lot of damage.
And always, always, ALWAYS! Pick up what the monsters drop, this gets you a nice sum of cash to use on skills and potions and all other necessities needed.

Jr Pepes are very profitable at this level, but they are much harder to kill than, say, both horny and zombie mushrooms in the Ant Tunnel.
Evil Eyes are also good choices, but they net average mesos and equipment drops. At this level(MapleStory powerleveling), Jr Wraiths that mentioned below are also a good choice, with the average fire/poison wizard being able to kill one in about 2 ~ 5 hits depending on your LUK, accuracy and skill level of Fire Arrow.

This will be a lightning wizards’ fastest EXP gain until at least level 55, if you work it correctly. To compare for around level 50, better to kill 4 Retz at 78XP each every 6 seconds, than 1 fire drake at 220 EXP each, and the Retz spawn en-masse at one spot.
While larger rarer monsters like Fire Drakes require you to travel and suffer plenty of damage. Then just work the Retz until you get enough points stored save at least 9 to raise Lightning to level 24 directly from 15. This is because the spell doubles in cost from 20 to 40, at spell level 16, making it very hard on your potions. At about lightning level 24, the damage increase should be worth the doubling of MP, but if you Are unsure, you can wait until you get 12 skill points.
It’s also very safe to train at the Retz as you ca not get hit unless you are grabbing loot. This way if you are a hardcore grinderou, you can possibly gain 2-3 levels a day at low experience levels. If you are careful with your lightning to mob at least 4 Retz per cast, and pick up all the loot and seeds, you should at least break even in mesos/potion use, unlike lorangs.
